Narrative Therapy
Narrative Therapy helps embracing and becoming an expert of oneself. It was developed by White and Epston in the 1980’s as an approach to therapy that is based upon the principles of non-pathological and non-blaming nature of the procedure. The therapist helps the client to work on their narrative of their issues and explore it as a story, thereby finding the issue dominant and recurrent. Narrative Therapy helps externalize oneself from their problems and develop a better insight on behavioral change. It provides clarity about one’s own story. The therapist helps break down a narrative into smaller sections, to make it easier to observe various aspects of ones problems, work on them in a more effective manner and reach significant milestones. This therapy helps one work through overwhelming feelings, find one’s voice, become an expert of one’s life and work towards goals.
It can be helpful with various issues:
- Attachment Styles, Eating Disorders, Grief, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Relationship Issues, Depression, Anxiety
