Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Post-traumatic stress disorder can be described as a mental health condition that is usually triggered by an event that was traumatizing for the individual. Traumatic event can include:

• Natural disasters like tsunami, cyclone, earthquakes, etc.
• Combat during war
• Physical abuse
• Emotional abuse
• Sexual abuse
• Accident
• Major injury, etc.

PTSD can make a person feel that they have a heightened level of alertness, face issues related to their fight or flight response, and feelings of danger even when they are physically safe.
It is often found to be affecting veterans of wars but it can affect anyone regardless of their age, profession, etc.
