Phobias
Phobia refers to an irrational fear that a person experiences when they encounter a certain place, thing, or situation. People with phobia have an extreme level of fear and panic when they are facing the source of their fear but they are not able to do anything about it. This fear often disrupts with the person’s life, work, relationships, etc.
People often have specific phobias related to various things or situations:
i. Fear of heights – Acrophobia
ii. Fear of enclosed space – Claustrophobia
iii. Fear of blood – Hemophobia
iv. Fear of dogs – cynophobia
